Layering TIP for active ingredient formulated serum

Sequence is IMPORTANT!
Start off with serums that have a lower pH in order for the active ingredient to get absorbed fully and start working its magic!
1. Apply 20% Vitamin A.C.E Brightening Serum (pH 4.0) on face and neck area and pat lightly for it to absorb.
2. Then continue on with Carrotene Clarifying Serum (pH 6.5) and apply it on the face and neck. Allow it to absorb by smoothening it out with your fingers.
3. When applying during the day, finish the routine off with a sunscreen that is SPF 30 and above.
4. If you have dry skin, use a water-based, moisturizing cream before applying sunscreen to boost skin moisture levels!

How often should I use everything in this set?

For Carrotene Clarifying Serum, we recommend using twice daily for the best result!
For 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum, you may use this Vitamin serum once or twice daily, on your preference. We'd recommend to start using it at a low frequency as this product contains a high concentration of Ascorbic Acid (16%). Begin using it only once at nighttime routine for the first 2 weeks, and when you feel that you skin has adapted, you can begin using it on your morning routine.

When I apply the 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum, I feel a slight tingling sensation, is this normal?

This vitamin C serum contains a high concentration of Ascorbic Acid (16%), Therefore, if it’s your first time using vitamin C in your skincare, you may experience a slight tingling sensation. This natural phenomenon frequently occurs when actives are applied. A short adjustment period is necessary, and it is recommended to start small and gradually increase the frequency of use. If the discomfort persists we recommend to stop using it and consult a dermatologist.

How do I layer 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum with other actives in my routine?

In general, vitamin C works well with retinol, niacinamide, panthenol and other vitamin derivatives. Due to individual differences, it is recommended to always conduct a patch test on your inner arm before using skincare products. When using vitamin C, be extra careful not to mix it with chemical exfoliants such as AHA, BHA or PHAs in the same routine. It can irate the skin, and prevent vitamin C from absorbing and being effective, because their pH levels do not match. It is recommended to use the A.C.E. serum in the morning and exfoliants at night.
