How to use

  1. Use once or twice daily after cleansing and toning.
  2. Pump 2-3 drops into the palm and then apply to your face. Add a couple extra pumps if you are applying to your neck and chest. This serum can be applied under eye area, avoiding the eye itself.
  3. Lightly pat skin to enhance absorption of remaining product into skin.
  4. For daytime use, finish with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.
  5. For nighttime use, apply to clean skin before sleep so that the 'Vitamin Buffet' can get to work on your skin while you sleep.
    Note: Avoid applying it on areas with active acne, areas that have undergone dermatological treatments (such as open wounds from fillers or other injections), or other areas that may experience irritation.
Tips:
  1. This serum contains a high concentration of vitamin C, and you may experience a slight tingling sensation when used for the first time, especially if your skin is not used to active ingredients. A short adjustment period is necessary, and it is recommended to conduct a patch test before use, especially when using it together with other active ingredients.
  2. If you want to keep your vitamin C fresh for an even longer period, we recommend storing it in the fridge!
  3. To maximize the effectiveness of this product, it’s recommended to use it within 6 months of opening.

    • When I apply the 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum, I feel a slight tingling sensation, is this normal?
      This vitamin C serum contains a high concentration of Ascorbic Acid (16%), Therefore, if it’s your first time using vitamin C in your skincare, you may experience a slight tingling sensation. This natural phenomenon frequently occurs when actives are applied. A short adjustment period is necessary, and it is recommended to start small and gradually increase the frequency of use. If the discomfort persists we recommend to stop using it and consult a dermatologist.

      I have acne-prone skin. Can I use this product?
      It is recommended not to use it on areas with severe acne or skin with active breakouts or irritation. Acidic ingredients are likely to cause tingling pain and inflammation when directly in contact with open wounds.

      How often can I use this product?
      Although this product has been determined to be suitable for sensitive skin via various clinical trials, we'd recommend to start using it at a low frequency. Begin using it only once every 2 days for the first 2 weeks, and when you feel that you skin has adapted, you can begin using it on a daily basis.

      How do I layer this product with other actives in my routine?
      In general, vitamin C works well with retinol, niacinamide, panthenol and other vitamin derivatives. Due to individual differences, it is recommended to always conduct a patch test on your inner arm before using skincare products. When using vitamin C, be extra careful not to mix it with chemical exfoliants such as AHA, BHA or PHAs in the same routine. It can irate the skin, and prevent vitamin C from absorbing and being effective, because their pH levels do not match. It is recommended to use the A.C.E. serum in the morning and exfoliants at night.

      Doesn't it make your skin more vulnerable to sunlight if you use the Vitamin C serum at daytime?
      Applying Ascorbic Acid to daytime does not necessarily make your skin more vulnerable or photosensitive. Many studies have shown that Ascorbic Acid helps to protect the skin from photodamage and free-radical attacks.
      However, always remember to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF greater than 30 at daytime! The SPF protects your skin from UV attacks on the top surface of your skin and helps the active ingredients in your skincare to function normally.
      If it’s your first time using a highly concentrated Vitamin C, we recommend you to gradually increase the frequency of use starting from just once a day in your nighttime routine.

      Can I store 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum in the fridge?
      Yes, you can! 16% of highly concentrated Vitamin C in APRILSKIN's 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum is ultra-stable and safe, and it is designed to prevent oxidation or change of contents internally using an airless container that blocks light, heat and air exposure effectively. There's no problem in keeping the 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum at room temperature, but if you want to keep it fresh for a longer time or add a cooling effect to the formula itself, it's okay to store it in a skincare fridge or in a regular refrigerator.

      Can I use 20% Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum with exfoliators?
      By exfoliating dead skin cells, active ingredients such as vitamin C are absorbed into the skin. However, using Vitamin C serums with chemical exfoliators containing ingredients such as AHA, BHA, PHA in one routine is not recommended as they can make the skin sensitive or reduce each other's effectiveness.

      • With Calendula Peel Off Mask:
      APRILSKIN's Calendar Peel Off Mask is the gentlest physical exfoliator that does not contain chemical exfoliants, so vitamin C serum can be used in conjunction with this best peel-feel exfoliating mask. Since everyone's skin is different, it is desirable to do a patch test before use, and we recommend using the Peel Off Mask 1-2 times a week and the Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum as a daily basis.

      • With Carrotene Clarifying Vita Pads:
      The 12 vita complex and beta-carotene components in Carrotene Clarifying Vita Pads help to enhance the brightening effects of the vitamin C to reveal a healthy, clear complexion. After cleansing, lightly wipe your face with Carrotene Clarifying Vita Pads and apply an appropriate amount of Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum. Natural salicylic acid contained in Carrotene Clarifying Vita Pads is a plant-based ingredient extracted from wintergreen leaf, which can be used with vitamin C serum because of its different chemical structure from BHA.

      • Products not to be used with Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum:
      Calendula 10% PHA+AHA Resurfacing Serum - It is an exfoliating serum containing 10% chemical exfoliants, so it is not recommended to use in one routine with vitamin C as it may make your skin sensitive. It could also prevent the vitamin C from maximum absorption. We recommend using alternately in the morning/evening, by refreshing your skin with vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum in the morning, and and letting the Calendula 10% PHA+AHA Resurfacing Serum work its effects while you are sleeping so that you can feel the pore-minimizing effects the next day!
      Calendula PHA Hyaluronic Peeling Gel - Calendula Peeling Gel is a hybrid exfoliator powered by PHA that dissolves dead skin cells and gommage that physically rolls away dead skin cells and debris. Although it is a hydrating and non-irritating exfoliator, we recommend using it alternatively with Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum rather than using it together in a same routine. If you are willing to use both in the same day, use Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum in the morning and Calendula PHA Hyaluronic Peeling Gel in the evening!

      My hand turned yellow while applying it! Is my skin going to turn yellow?
      Absolutely not! Your hand might turn yellow while applying it because of the vitamin C substance. However, it doesn't mean your skin will eventually turn yellow. Actually, our 20% A.C.E Brightening Serum has proven result that it reduces the yellowness 2.346% by 4 weeks up use, which will eventually brighten up your skin and look more glowy.

    • First time to vitamin C?
      Good things to know about vitamin C:
      1. High-concentrations of vitamin C are susceptible to oxidation, hence it is recommended to store the serum in a cool and dark place, especially during summer.
      2. Use within 6 months of opening. To keep the product fresh for an even longer time, store it in the refrigerator.
      3. You may experience a slight tingling sensation upon application during the first use. This is normal and a short adjustment period is necessary. We recommend starting small and gradually increase amount with frequency of use.
      4. It is generally not advised to use exfoliants containing PHA, AHA and BHA in the same routine as the Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum.
      5. When using with our Calendula 10% PHA+AHA Resurfacing Serum, it's recommended to use the Vitamin A.C.E. Brightening Serum in the morning, and the Calendula Resurfacing Serum in the evening. No matter what you use in the morning, always follow with an SPF!
